Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 Tbsp
  • eggs - 4 item
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • water - 1 c
  • sifted flour - 1 c
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • dash of pepper - 1 item
  • celery salt - 1/2 tsp
  • buttered bread crumbs - 1 c
  • mushroom soup - 1 c
  • sweet pickles, chopped - 1/2 c
  • small jar chopped pimento - 1 item
  • minced green peppers - 1/4 c
  • crushed and drained pineapple - 1/4 c
  • Heat water and margarine in pan to melt margarine
  • mayonnaise enough to mix to spreading consistency - 3/4 c
  • Seafood Salad Filling:1 can crabmeat may use frozen
  • can shrimp may use frozen - 1 item

How to make ham salad puffs:

Mix flour and salt. Heat water and margarine in pan to melt margarine. Then add flour all at once and beat over low heat until mixture leaves sides of pan. Add unbeaten eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Drop small teaspoonfuls on greased baking sheet 1-inch apart. Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes, watching carefully. Split when cool and fill with ham salad or seafood filling. Makes about 50 puffs.Ham Salad Filling:1 can Hormel chunky ham1/2 c. sweet pickles, chopped1/4 c. crushed and drained pineapple1 Tbsp. sugar1/2 tsp. celery salt3/4 c. mayonnaise (enough to mix to spreading consistency) Seafood Salad Filling:1 can crabmeat (may use frozen)1 can shrimp (may use frozen)1 c. mushroom soup1/4 c. minced green peppers1 small jar chopped pimento1/4 tsp. salt dash of pepper1 c. buttered bread crumbs For either filling, combine all ingredients. Fill puffs and put on cookie sheets. Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes.
