Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • vinegar - 1/2 c
  • beaten egg - 1 item
  • paprika - 1/2 tsp
  • bread crumbs - 1 c
  • milk or more - 1/2 c
  • ground pork
  • tomato soup - 3 Tbsp
  • ground ham - 1 lb
  • ground lean beef or turkey - 1/2 lb
  • Shape in loaf
  • remaining can tomato soup - 1 item

How to make ham loaf:

Mix. Shape in loaf. If it seems dry, add more milk. Slice onion on top. Bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours. Baste occasionally with water or chicken broth. Serve with Mustard Sauce.Mustard Sauce:1 Tbsp. flour1/2 c. sugar1/2 c. vinegar1 beaten egg1/2 c. French's prepared mustard remaining can tomato soup One or 2 tablespoons butter may be added to hot sauce, but I omit as no need for extra fat gms.

Mix flour with sugar. Add vinegar, egg, mustard and soup. Cook in double boiler until thick, stirring frequently. If too thick, may be thinned with water. Serve some over slices of meat loaf and remaining in side dish.

Hint: Line loaf pan with foil with sides extending. Makes it easier to remove loaf from pan.
