Ham bone soup
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- stalks celery - 3 item
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- whole cloves - 2 item
- carrots, chopped - 3 item
- potatoes, cubed - 3 item
- butter beans - 1 c
- fresh corn - 1/2 c
- large onions, diced - 2 item
- tomatoes, drained and chopped - 1 lb
- diced turnips - 1/4 c
- ham bone with generous amount of meat left on bone - 1 item
- snap beans in bite-sized pieces - 1 c
How to make ham bone soup:
Cover the ham bone with water in a large kettle and boil until meat is almost tender. Add remaining ingredients, except corn. Cover and cook slowly for 3 to 4 hours, adding corn during last 15 minutes.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Pork, Ham.
