Ham and cheese puffs
Ingredients/Components
- water - 1 c
- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- flour - 1 c
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- eggs - 4 item
- deviled ham - 1/2 c
- grated Parmesan cheese - 1/2 c
- chives, parsley or other herbs optional - 1 item
How to make ham and cheese puffs:
Put water and butter in saucepan and bring to boil. When butter has melted, add flour and salt all at one time. Reduce heat to low and stir with wooden spoon for 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Cool about 10 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, stirring vigorously after each addition. Divide mixture in half. Stir ham into half of mixture and cheese in the other.Drop by teaspoons on a cookie sheet. Cook in preheated 400° oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until puffed and light brown. Makes 3 to 4 dozen puffs.
Note: Chives, parsley or other herbs may be added to either batch before cooking.
