Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- butter - 1/4 c
- water - 4 c
- eggs, beaten - 4 item
- Cheddar cheese, shredded
- sausage, browned and drained - 1 lb
- grits - 1 c
How to make grits casserole:
In pan boil water and salt. Stir in grits. Reduce heat and cook 4 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Add small amount to eggs; return to pan. Stir in sausage and 1 cup cheese, milk and butter. Stir until butter melts. Pour into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake at 350° for 50 to 55 minutes or until top begins to brown.Recipe categories: Vegetables, Main dish, Casseroles.
