Grilled reuben sandwich
Ingredients/Components
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- catsup - 1 Tbsp
- mayonnaise - 1/2 c
- fresh parsley, chopped - 1 Tbsp
- horseradish - 1 Tbsp
- sauerkraut - 1 c
- slices rye bread - 8 item
- sliced corned beef - 3/4 lb
- Gruyere or Alpine Swiss cheese - 4 slices
How to make grilled reuben sandwich:
Combine the mayonnaise, catsup, horseradish, parsley and pepper. Spread this sauce on bread. Layer the corned beef and sauerkraut on 4 slices of the bread and top with the cheese. Cover with the remaining bread and spread with 1 tablespoon of the butter. Melt the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter in a large nonstick frying pan over medium heat. Add sandwiches, unbuttered side down, and fry until golden, about 5 minutes on each side. Turn and brown the other side. Makes 4 servings. Work time: 25 minutes. Total time: 25 minutes.Per Serving: 718 calories, 29 g protein, 53 g fat, 1934 mg sodium, 31 g carbohydrate and 147 mg cholesterol.
