Ingredients/Components
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- salad oil - 1/4 c
- green onions, sliced - 1 c
- soy sauce - 1/4 c
- clove garlic - 1 item
- green peppers, sliced - 1 c
- ribs celery, sliced - 2 item
- round steak - 1 lb
- tomatoes for color - 2 item
How to make green pepper steak:
With sharp knife cut meat across grain into thin strips. Combine soy sauce and garlic. Add beef and set aside. Prepare vegetables. Heat oil; add beef and brown. Cook until tender (30 to 40 minutes) over low heat. Turn heat up and add vegetables. Cook about 10 minutes. Mix cornstarch with water and add to meat and vegetables. Stir until thick and add cut up tomatoes just before serving. Serve over rice.Recipe categories: Main dish, One Dish meal, White rice.
