Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- cans chicken broth - 2 item
- cloves garlic, crushed - 6 item
- white pepper - 1/2 tsp
- medium onions, sliced - 2 item
- can green chilies - 1 oz
- salt pork, diced - 1/4 lb
- large can tomatoes, diced - 1 item
- pork butt, cubed - 3 lb
- bottles green salsa - 2 item
How to make green chili soup:
Saute salt pork slowly. Add onion, pork and garlic until cooked. Drain. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer 2 hours.For a low-fat version of green chili soup, substitute chicken breast for pork and omit the salt pork.
A can of chickpeas also makes a tasty addition.
