Green beans and tomatoes
Ingredients/Components
- margarine - 2 Tbsp
- olive oil - 4 Tbsp
- salt to taste - 1 item
- fresh ground pepper to taste - 1 item
- fresh green beans
- container cherry tomatoes - 1 item
- garlic, finely chopped - 2 Tbsp
- fresh basil leaves, coarsely chopped - 20 item
How to make green beans and tomatoes:
Cut off tips of beans. Drop beans into boiling salted water; return to boil. Simmer about 5 minutes (crisp-tender). Do not overcook. Drain.Melt margarine. Add olive oil and garlic. Cook briefly, being careful not to brown garlic. Wash tomatoes and cut in halves. Add tomatoes, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring, for about 2 minutes. Add green beans and basil. Blend well, but gently, and cook for 3 minutes. Serves 8.
