Ingredients/Components
- ground beef - 1 lb
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- Burgundy or other red wine - 1/4 c
- brown sugar - 1 Tbsp
- catsup - 2 Tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- can whole onions, drained or 1 1/2 c - 1 oz
- shredded Jack or mild Cheddar cheese - 1 item
- chopped walnuts - 1 item
How to make greek stew:
Brown ground beef in large skillet; stirring to crumble. Pour off excess fat. Blend in flour. Stir in water, Burgundy, brown sugar, catsup, Worcestershire sauce, salt and cinnamon. Add onions, cover and simmer 10 minutes. Serve garnished with cheese and walnuts.Recipe categories: Weeknight, Main dish, Stew.
