Greek spinach pie
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 6 item
- pkg - 1 oz
- milk
- salt
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- shredded Mozzarella cheese - 8 oz
- dash of nutmeg - 1 item
- clove garlic, chopped - 1 item
- frozen chopped spinach - 2 pkg
How to make greek spinach pie:
Prepare pie crust. Cook spinach; press out moisture and chop finely. In skillet, saute onion in 2 tablespoons butter until golden. Stir in spinach.In saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons butter; stir in flour. Gradually stir in milk. Stir over low heat until sauce bubbles and thickens. Stir in salt, pepper, nutmeg and spinach. Beat eggs until well blended. Stir eggs and cheese into spinach mixture. Stir until well blended. Pour into pie shells (makes two 9-inch pies). Bake 40 to 45 minutes in preheated 350° oven.
