Greek bean soup
Ingredients/Components
- oil - 1/2 c
- chopped carrots - 1 lb
- chopped green pepper - 1 item
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- onions, chopped - 3 item
- white navy beans Great Northern, washed
- large pot water - 3/4 item
- small can tomatoes or 3/4 can whole tomatoes if you want a more tomato taste - 1 item
- whole garlic clove - 1 item
- stalks celery, chopped include leaves - 4 item
- Greek olives optional - 12 item
How to make greek bean soup:
Boil beans in water for 1/2 hour. Add oil, tomatoes, onions, garlic, celery, carrots, salt and pepper. Cook for 4 hours. Add green pepper after 2 hours of cooking. Add olives after 3 hours of cooking. Serve hot.Recipe categories: Cheese, Soups & stews, Main dish.
