Ingredients/Components

  • eggs, beaten - 6 item
  • milk - 1 qt
  • sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla flavoring - 3 Tbsp
  • stick butter or margarine - 1 item
  • loaf bread or biscuits just enough in milk mixture, not to soak up all the milk - 1 item

How to make granny's bread pudding:

Break up slices of bread or biscuits into the mixture of eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla. Add melted butter or margarine to mixture. Pour into a 9 x 12-inch pan that has been buttered and sprinkle top with nutmeg. Bake at 350° until knife comes out clean and the top is nice and brown.
