Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- packed brown sugar - 1/3 c
- flour
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- chopped walnuts - 1/2 c
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
- chopped apples - 1 c
- melted butter or margarine - 1/4 c
- butter margarine, melted - 1/2 c
- Add apples and walnuts; toss to coat
How to make grandma's apple muffins:
In large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, soda and cloves. Add apples and walnuts; toss to coat. In small bowl, beat eggs with fork; beat in buttermilk and butter. Add to flour mixture. Stir just until blended. Fill greased tins 2/3 full. Sprinkle with Streusel Topping. Bake in preheated 400° oven until pick inserted in center comes out clean, about 15 to 25 minutes for muffins or 30 to 35 minutes for 9-inch square.Streusel Topping:1/2 c. flour1/3 c. packed brown sugar1 tsp. cinnamon1/4 c. melted butter or margarine Prepare topping before baking muffins.
