  • graham cracker crumbs
  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk
  • cornstarch - 6 Tbsp
  • egg yolks - 3 item
  • softened butter - 1/4 c
  • Meringue:3 egg whites

How to make graham cracker cream pie:

Filling:3 c. milk6 Tbsp. cornstarch1/2 c. sugar3 egg yolks1 tsp. vanilla Meringue:3 egg whites6 Tbsp. sugar Mix together the graham cracker crumbs, softened butter and sugar. Press in pie pan. Bake at 375° about 10 minutes.

Mix small amount of the milk with cornstarch and sugar. Beat egg yolks slightly. Stir into cornstarch mixture. Scald remaining milk. Stir in egg yolk mixture and cook over direct heat until mixture thickens. Add vanilla. Cool. (I use a heavy pan to cook this in.) Put mixture in cooled graham cracker crust.

Beat egg whites until stiff. Add sugar and place on top of pie and brown. Refrigerate.
