Glazed baked ham
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- whole cloves - 1 item
- white vinegar - 1/3 c
- maraschino cherries optional - 1 item
- smoked shank roast your family size* - 1 item
- can pineapple 4 slices - 1 item
- mustard of your choice - 1 item
How to make glazed baked ham:
*Have butcher cut shank end off for split pea soup or whatever.Peel rind off roast top and sides. Leave approximately 1/4-inch fat. Then score fat in cross hatched diamond shape pattern about 1-inch in size on top and sides. At each corner of score, press 1 clove down to meat. Spread mustard over cloves and fat.
Mix together brown sugar, vinegar, cinnamon and flour to make a paste for spreading over mustard. If too thin, add more flour and if too thick, add more vinegar. Bake in a 325° oven for approximately 3 hours. The last hour, place pineapple slices with cherry in center on top and sides, toothpick holding in place. Save pineapple juice for upside-down cake for dessert. Serve with mashed potatoes, corn and cold applesauce.
