Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- brown sugar - 1 c
- soda - 2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 3/4 c
- molasses - 1/4 c
- sifted flour
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
- ground ginger - 1 tsp
How to make gingersnaps:
Cream together shortening, brown sugar, molasses and egg until fluffy. Sift together all remaining ingredients except granulated sugar. Stir into molasses mixture; form into small balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake in 375° oven for 12 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen.Recipe categories: Desserts, Drop cookies, Cookie and brownie.
