Gingerbread cookies
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 5 c
- baking soda
- egg - 1 item
- vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- shortening - 1 c
- molasses - 1 c
- ginger - 1 Tbsp
- ground cloves - 1 tsp
How to make gingerbread cookies:
Combine together all dry ingredients except sugar and salt. Cream sugar, shortening and salt. Add egg, molasses and vinegar. Add dry ingredients; mix well. Chill about 3 hours. Roll to 1/8 inch on floured surface. Cut into shapes. Place 1 inch apart on cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 6 minutes.
