Gingerbread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- soda
- egg - 1 item
- molasses - 1 c
- ginger - 1 tsp
- hot water - 1 c
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
- butter and lard mixed - 1/2 c
How to make gingerbread:
Cream shortening and sugar, add beaten egg, molasses, then dry ingredients which have been sifted together. Add hot water last and beat until smooth. The batter is soft but makes fine cake. Bake in greased shallow pan.In memory of Grace Moody.
