Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 3/4 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- boiling water - 1/2 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- molasses - 1/2 c
- ginger - 3/4 tsp
- beaten egg - 1 item
How to make gingerbread:
Preheat oven to 350°. Pour boiling water over shortening. Add sugar, molasses and egg, then beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients and beat until smooth. Pour in ungreased 8 x 8-inch pan and bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350°.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, < 60 mins.
