Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour
- soda - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/4 c
- molasses - 1/2 c
- ginger - 1 tsp
- cloves - 1/4 tsp
- egg, beaten - 1 item
How to make gingerbread:
Mix together dry ingredients. Add milk and eggs. Mix thoroughly. Stir in molasses and shortening. Pour into 8 x 8-inch shallow pan. Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.Raisins, chopped prunes, chopped apples or chopped pears may be added to mixture before baking. Can be cooked in muffin pans or recipe doubled and baked in a Bundt pan.
