Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- milk - 2 3
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour
- butter - 1/2 c
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- powdered sugar - 1 c
- molasses - 1/3 c
- ginger - 1/2 tsp
- cloves - 1/4 tsp
- salt to taste - 1 item
- lukewarm water - 1/2 c
- Add egg
How to make ginger creams:
Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. Add egg. Beat well after; add molasses. Stir soda into warm water. Add alternately with sifted dry ingredients. Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake about 20 minutes in a 350° oven. Spread with Powdered Sugar Icing. Cut into strips 1 x 2-inches.Powdered Sugar Icing:2 Tbsp. butter2 to 3 Tbsp. milk1 c. powdered sugar1/2 tsp. vanilla salt to taste Melt together butter and milk. Add remaining ingredients.
