Ingredients/Components
- butter, softened - 1/4 c
- sugar - 1/2 c
- egg - 1 item
- molasses - 1/2 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- hot water - 1/2 c
- flour - 2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- ginger - 1 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- sifted powdered sugar
- lemon juice
- cream
How to make ginger creams:
Icing:3/4 c. sifted powdered sugar1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice1 1/2 tsp. cream Mix together butter, sugar, egg and molasses until well blended. Stir baking soda into 1/2 cup hot water until dissolved. Then stir into first mixture. Mix flour, salt, ginger, nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon. Stir into butter. Chill dough. Drop by rounded teaspoons about 2 inches apart on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 400° for 7 to 8 minutes. While still warm, frost with icing. Stir lemon juice and cream into powdered sugar until smooth.Recipe categories: Desserts, Drop cookies, Cookie and brownie.
