Ginger beef
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
- clove garlic - 1 item
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- oyster sauce - 2 Tbsp
- whiskey - 1 tsp
- small onion optional - 1 item
- cornstarch in 2 Tbsp - 1 Tbsp
- water or less - 1 c
- tender beef sirloin tip, boneless tip sirloin or flank steak
- piece ginger about 1-inch sliced thin - 1 item
How to make ginger beef:
Note: Chicken broth may be used instead of water.Slice beef very thin and marinate with soy sauce, sugar, whiskey, salt and pepper. Heat frying pan hot and add garlic and sliced ginger with about a teaspoon of oil. Add beef and brown. Remove beef. Add 1 cup water and add cornstarch to make gravy. Add beef and oyster sauce and serve over hot rice. Serves 4 to 6.
