German red cabbage
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- salt - 1 Tsp
- bay leaf - 1 item
- apple cider vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- cup water - 1/4 item
- small chopped onion - 1 item
- slices bacon, fried and crumbled - 4 item
- apple, peeled and chopped - 1 item
- small head red cabbage, shredded in long shreds removing core - 1 item
How to make german red cabbage:
Place all ingredients except apple cider vinegar and bacon in large saucepan and simmer 15 minutes to tender. Add vinegar and apple. Cook another 5 minutes. Drain, remove bay leaf. Transfer to serving dish and add bacon crumbs.Good with pork chops or any kind of sausages.
