German potato salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt
- vinegar - 1/2 c
- onion, chopped - 3/4 c
- celery seed - 1 tsp
- bacon - 1/2 lb
- hard-boiled eggs, diced - 2 item
- cooked potatoes, sliced - 6 c
How to make german potato salad:
Cook bacon until crisp; drain and crumble. Reserve fat. Combine reserved fat from bacon with sugar, salt, celery seed and vinegar until sugar is dissolved. Combine potatoes, bacon, onions and eggs in a large bowl, tossing thoroughly. Pour vinegar-fat mixture over top and toss lightly until potatoes are completely coated.Recipe categories: Salads, Side dish, Potato.
