  • sugar - 1/3 c
  • salt - 1/4 Tbsp
  • cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
  • water - 3/4 c
  • vinegar - 1/3 c
  • onion flakes - 1/8 c
  • red potatoes - 1/2 lb
  • bacon - 1/4 lb

How to make german potato salad:

Boil, peel and dice potatoes. Fry bacon to crisp. Reserve fat to make dressing. Add bacon to potato. Mix remaining ingredients in bacon fat; cook until thick and glossy. Pour over potatoes. Makes six 1/2-cup servings.
