German potato salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1/2 c
- egg - 1 item
- vinegar - 1/2 c
- chopped onion - 2 Tbsp
- white pepper - 1/2 tsp
- bacon, diced - 1/3 lb
- sliced, hot, cooked potatoes - 3/4 qt
How to make german potato salad:
Fry bacon until delicately brown (about 5 minutes); if very fat, drain, reserving at least 1/4 cup in skillet. Add onion and saute about 3 minutes. Add flour, sugar and seasonings and blend well. Add vinegar and water gradually and cook until thickened (about 5 minutes), stirring constantly. Pour beaten egg over hot potatoes, coating potatoes well.
