German potato salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1-1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- vinegar - 1/2 c
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- hard-boiled eggs, chopped - 2 item
- celery seed - 1 tsp
- bacon - 1/2 lb
- Dash pepper - 1 item
- cooked potatoes, diced or sliced - 6 item
How to make german potato salad:
Cook bacon until crisp. Drain and crumble. Cook onion in bacon fat. Blend in flour, sugar, salt, celery seed, and pepper. Add water and vinegar. Cook and stir until thick. Add potatoes, bacon and eggs. Heat thoroughly. Garnish with pimiento and/or parsley.Recipe categories: Salads, Side dish, Potato.
