German coffee cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- raisins - 1/2 1
- warm water - 1/4 c
- yeast - 1 pkg
- shortening, soft - 1/2 c
How to make german coffee cake:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Beat eggs and sugar; add shortening, salt, milk and yeast. Add flour and raisins; beat. Let rise until double, then spread dough in 17 x 11 x 1-inch pan and let rise until double. Before baking, sprinkle on topping of 1 cup sugar and 1/2 stick oleo. Crumble this mixture over top.
