German chocolate pie
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 2/3 c
- pkg - 1 oz
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- butter - 1/4 c
- cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
- flaked coconut
- large eggs - 2 item
- can evaporated milk - 1 oz
- unbaked 8-inch pie shells - 2 item
How to make german chocolate pie:
Combine chocolate and butter in a saucepan; cook over low heat, stirring, until chocolate melts. Remove from heat. Gradually stir in milk; set aside. Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt in a bowl. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well. Gradually stir in chocolate mixture, using a wire whisk. Pour into pastry shells; sprinkle with coconut and pecans. Bake at 375° for 40 minutes.
