German chocolate pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- evaporated milk - 7 oz
- cocoa - 4 Tbsp
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- flaked coconut
- dash of salt - 1 item
- butter, melted - 1/4 c
- heavy cream, whipped - 1 pt
- pecans, chopped - 1 c
- deep-dish pie crust - 1 item
How to make german chocolate pie:
Combine sugar, salt and cocoa in bowl. Stir in milk, vanilla, eggs and melted butter. Blend well with electric mixer. Stir in 1 cup coconut and 1/2 cup pecans (reserve remaining coconut and pecans to garnish pie). Pour mixture into pie shell (unbaked). Bake at 350° for 40 minutes. Cool throughly. Whip cream until peaks form; spoon on top of pie. Toast remaining nuts and coconut and sprinkle on top.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
