German apple cake
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- white sugar - 1 c
- Crisco shortening - 1/2 c
- chopped apples - 2 c
- buttermilk or sour milk can be substituted with 1 c - 1 c
How to make german apple cake:
Topping:1/4 c. white sugar1/4 c. brown sugar1 tsp. cinnamon Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs. Add buttermilk alternately with dry ingredients (mixed together first). Fold in chopped apples. Pour batter into greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Mix topping ingredients together and sprinkle over entire top of cake. Bake at 325° for 1 hour. Delicious!Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Apple.
