German apple cake



  • cinnamon
  • eggs - 2 item
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • baking soda - 2 tsp
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • Crisco shortening - 1/2 c
  • chopped apples - 2 c
  • buttermilk or sour milk can be substituted with 1 c - 1 c

How to make german apple cake:

Topping:1/4 c. white sugar1/4 c. brown sugar1 tsp. cinnamon Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs. Add buttermilk alternately with dry ingredients (mixed together first). Fold in chopped apples. Pour batter into greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Mix topping ingredients together and sprinkle over entire top of cake. Bake at 325° for 1 hour. Delicious!
