Garlic cheese grits
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- water - 6 c
- eggs, well beaten - 3 item
- sharp Cheddar cheese, grated - 1 lb
- butter 1 stick - 1/2 c
- quick grits
- cayenne pepper to taste - 1 item
- to 3 cloves garlic, minced - 1 item
How to make garlic cheese grits:
Bring water to a rapid boil with salt. Gradually stir in grits with a fork. Cook until all water is absorbed. Stir in butter, a little at a time. Carefully add eggs, cheese, garlic and cayenne pepper. Put into a greased 2 1/2-quart casserole. Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 20 minutes.Note: This dish may be frozen before baking. Thaw completely before baking.
