Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • water - 1/2 c
  • vinegar - 2 c
  • can kidney beans - 1 oz
  • can garbanzo beans - 1 oz
  • large green pepper, chopped - 1 item
  • can wax beans - 1 oz
  • can cut green beans - 1 oz
  • bunch green onions, sliced - 1 item
  • jar sliced pimiento, drained - 1 oz
  • each cans lima beans - 2 oz

How to make garden bean salad:

Drain all cans of beans. Place in a large bowl. Add green pepper, celery, pimiento and green onions; set aside.

Bring remaining ingredients to a boil in a heavy saucepan; boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and immediately pour over vegetables. Refrigerate several hours or overnight. Yields 12 to 16 servings.
