Ingredients/Components
- milk
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- cooking oil - 2 c
- sifted all-purpose flour - 2 c
- beaten eggs - 2 item
How to make funnel cakes:
Combine eggs and milk in mixing bowl. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to egg mixture; beat smooth with rotary beater. (Test mixture to see if it flows easily through funnel, if too thick, add milk; if too thin, add flour.) Heat oil to 360° in a 8-inch skillet. Covering bottom opening of funnel with finger, pour 1/2 cup batter into funnel. Remove end of the funnel close to the surface of the oil. Fry until golden, about 3 minutes, turn and cook 1 minute more. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar. Makes 4.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, < 30 mins.
