- Add eggs and vanilla
How to make fudge cake:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat until fluffy, about 5 minutes, at high speed. Blend in melted chocolate. Sift dry ingredients. Add alternately with ice water. Beat well after each addition. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes in 2 (9-inch) round pans, greased. Top with Chocolate Satin Frosting.Chocolate Satin Frosting:3 1/2 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate3 c. sifted powdered sugar4 1/2 Tbsp. hot water1 egg1 1/2 tsp. vanilla Melt chocolate and mix with rest of ingredients, except egg, then beat in egg and, when spreading consistency, put on cake.
