Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- brown sugar - 1/2 3/4
- butter - 2/3 c
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- pecans - 1 c
- large can evaporated milk - 1 item
- fruit cocktail and juice - 2 c
How to make fruit cocktail cake:
Topping:1 1/2 c. sugar1 large can evaporated milk2/3 c. butter2 tsp. vanilla Mix 1/2 cup sugar, fruit cocktail and juice, eggs, flour, baking soda and salt together. Pour in 9 x 13-inch greased cake pan. Top with brown sugar and pecans (which have been mixed). Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. In saucepan, mix topping ingredients. Bring to boil. Boil for 5 minutes. Pour directly over hot cake from the oven. Cool. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Fruit.
