Ingredients/Components
- large can fruit cocktail - 1 item
- plain flour - 2 c
- sugar
- baking powder
- eggs - 2 item
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- Crisco oil - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- butter - 1/4 c
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- corn syrup - 1 tsp
- soda - 1/2 tsp
How to make fruit cocktail cake:
Icing:1 c. sugar1/4 c. butter1/2 c. buttermilk1 tsp. corn syrup1/2 tsp. soda1/2 tsp. vanilla Sift dry ingredients together. Add fruit cocktail. Mix well. Add eggs, vanilla and oil; blend well. Bake in greased tube pan at 350° until done.Icing: Cook until soft ball forms in cold water. Pour over cake immediately.
