Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- buttermilk - 2/3 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- shortening - 1/4 c
- fresh or frozen berries - 1 pt
- soda, mixed in the buttermilk - 1/2 tsp
- juice from any fruit - 1 c
How to make fruit cobbler:
Mix the first 7 ingredients like a cake; beat it. Pour into a 9-inch square baking pan or glass baking dish. Spread over it the berries, 1 cup sugar (if unsweetened) and juice from the fruit. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes to 1 hour.It is good served with a whipped topping or a dip of ice cream or ice milk.
