Fruit cobbler
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- boiling water - 1 c
- margarine - 1/2 c
- fruit apple, peaches, rhubarb or blueberries may be used - 1 item
How to make fruit cobbler:
Topping:1 1/2 c. sugar2 Tbsp. cornstarch1 c. boiling water Layer fruit into a 9 x 13-inch pan. If using apples, you may want to sprinkle them with cinnamon. Combine in a large bowl the sugar, margarine, eggs, baking powder, salt, vanilla, milk and flour. Beat well. Pour this batter over the fruit.Next, make the topping. Combine sugar and cornstarch. Sprinkle this over the batter. Over all of this, pour boiling water. Bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes. Serve warm. May be topped with ice cream or Cool Whip, as desired.
