Frosted orange salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- boiling water - 2 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- pineapple juice - 1 c
- orange sherbet - 1 pt
- orange Jell-O - 2 pkg
- crushed pineapple, drained - 1 c
- mandarin oranges, drained - 1 c
- dessert topping mix - 1 pkg
How to make frosted orange salad:
Dissolve Jell-O in boiling water. Add sherbet. Stir to dissolve. Cool until partly thickened. Add pineapple and mandarin oranges. Pour into large flat cake pan. Chill until firm. Combine pineapple juice, sugar, flour, egg and butter. Cook, stirring constantly, until thick; let cool. Stir often. Fold in prepared whipped topping mix.
