  • sugar - 2/3 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • all-purpose flour - 1 c
  • margarine, softened - 2 Tbsp
  • finely chopped walnuts - 2 Tbsp
  • low-fat sour cream - 1/2 c
  • skim milk - 1 2
  • cholesterol-free egg product - 2 whites
  • mashed, very ripe bananas about 2 medium - 3/4 c
  • Spray square pan 9 x 9 x 2-inch with nonstick cooking spray

How to make frosted banana bars:

Heat oven to 375°. Spray square pan (9 x 9 x 2-inch) with nonstick cooking spray. Beat sugar, sour cream, margarine and egg whites in a large bowl on low speed 1 minute, scraping bowl occasionally. Beat in bananas and vanilla on low speed for 30 seconds. Beat in flour, salt and baking soda on medium speed 1 minute, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in nuts. Spread in pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until light brown. Cool. Spread with frosting. Cut into 2 1/4 x 1 1/2-inch bars (24 bars).Frosting for Banana Bars:1 1/4 c. powdered sugar1 Tbsp. margarine, softened1 to 2 Tbsp. skim milk1/2 tsp. vanilla Mix all ingredients until smooth and spread on Banana Bars.
