Frosted banana bars
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2/3 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 1 c
- margarine, softened - 2 Tbsp
- finely chopped walnuts - 2 Tbsp
- low-fat sour cream - 1/2 c
- skim milk - 1 2
- cholesterol-free egg product - 2 whites
- mashed, very ripe bananas about 2 medium - 3/4 c
- Spray square pan 9 x 9 x 2-inch with nonstick cooking spray
How to make frosted banana bars:
Heat oven to 375°. Spray square pan (9 x 9 x 2-inch) with nonstick cooking spray. Beat sugar, sour cream, margarine and egg whites in a large bowl on low speed 1 minute, scraping bowl occasionally. Beat in bananas and vanilla on low speed for 30 seconds. Beat in flour, salt and baking soda on medium speed 1 minute, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in nuts. Spread in pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until light brown. Cool. Spread with frosting. Cut into 2 1/4 x 1 1/2-inch bars (24 bars).Frosting for Banana Bars:1 1/4 c. powdered sugar1 Tbsp. margarine, softened1 to 2 Tbsp. skim milk1/2 tsp. vanilla Mix all ingredients until smooth and spread on Banana Bars.Per bar: 90 calories, 1 g protein, 18 g carbohydrates, 70 mg sodium, 2 g fat (1 g unsaturated, 1 g saturated) and 2 mg cholesterol.
