Ingredients/Components

  • graham cracker crumbs
  • sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
  • cloves - 1/8 tsp
  • butter, melted - 1/3 c
  • Filling:1 can Pillsbury or Duncan Hines ready to spread sour cream or vanilla frosting
  • sour cream - 1 c
  • canned pumpkin - 1 c
  • ginger - 1 tsp
  • carton frozen whipped topping, thawed - 1 oz

How to make frost on the pumpkin pie:

Filling:1 can Pillsbury or Duncan Hines ready to spread sour cream or vanilla frosting1 c. sour cream1 c. canned pumpkin1 Tbsp. cinnamon1 tsp. ginger1/4 tsp. cloves1 (8 oz.) carton frozen whipped topping, thawed Heat oven to 350°. In small bowl, combine crust ingredients; stir until blended. Reserve 2 tablespoons crumbs for topping. Press remaining crumbs over bottom and up sides of 9 or 10-inch pie pan. Bake at 350° for 6 minutes; cool.

In large bowl, combine all filling ingredients except whipped topping; beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Fold in 1 cup whipped topping; pour into prepared crust. Spread remaining whipped topping over filling; sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Refrigerate at least 4 hours. Makes 8 servings.

This is such a pretty pie! I wish I could include a photo! Even those who are not crazy about pumpkin pie, enjoy the smooth, rich flavor. It's a holiday favorite in our home now.

It's hard to believe that at one time, I did not enjoy cooking. Gwen Jollief was such an inspiration to me in so many ways. Much of my joy for cooking now is because of the sharing and love for it that I got from her. Thank you, Gwen. Often while cooking I think of her and smile.
