Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- vegetable oil - 1 item
- cornmeal - 3/4 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- sliced okra - 4 c
How to make fried okra:
Combine okra, milk, salt and pepper in a shallow dish. Let stand one hour, or until most of milk is absorbed. Dredge okra in cornmeal. Fry okra in hot oil (375°) until golden. Drain on paper towels. Transfer okra to serving platter.Recipe categories: Side dish, Vegetables, Southern u.s..
