  • eggs - 2 item
  • milk - 1/4 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 1/2 c
  • cooking oil - 1/4 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • dried bread crumbs - 3/4 c
  • ripe green tomatoes - 3 item

How to make fried green tomatoes:

Cut tomatoes into 1/2-inch slices. Dip slices in milk, then in flour, then salt and pepper, then dip in 2 beaten eggs and then finally in bread crumbs.

In a 10-inch skillet, fry 1/2 of the slices over medium-low heat, 8 to 10 minutes on each side or until brown. Add more remaining slices and oil, if needed. Season.
