Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- dark brown sugar - 1 c
- nuts - 1/2 c
- raisins - 1/2 c
- dates - 1/2 c
- fresh ripe tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped - 2 c
How to make fresh tomato cake:
Cream together the brown sugar and shortening. Add the eggs and next 5 ingredients. Stir in and mix well the tomatoes, nuts, dates and raisins. Mix well. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes, or until done.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Tomato.
