Fresh strawberry pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- pkg - 1 oz
- cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
- water - 1/2 c
- red food coloring - 1 item
- strawberries - 6 c
- unbaked 9-inch pie crust - 1 item
How to make fresh strawberry pie:
Bake pie crust; cool. Mash enough berries to measure 1 cup. Stir together sugar and cornstarch. Gradually stir in water and crushed berries. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir 1 minute. Stir in a few drops of red food coloring; cool. Beat cream cheese until smooth. Spread on bottom of cooled pie shell. Fill shell with remaining berries over top. Chill at least 3 hours or until set.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
