Fresh peach cobbler



  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 1 Tbsp
  • shortening - 6 Tbsp
  • lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • peaches, peeled and sliced - 1 qt

How to make fresh peach cobbler:

Batter:1 c. flour2 Tbsp. sugar6 Tbsp. shortening1 egg, beaten1/2 c. milk Sprinkle sliced peaches with lemon juice. Combine sugar, flour and salt; add to peaches. Place in a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.

Batter: Combine flour and sugar. Cut in shortening. Lightly stir in egg and milk to dry mix. Pour batter over peaches. Bake in hot oven (425°) for 40 minutes. Serve hot or cold.
