Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 3 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 5 tsp
- butter - 2 tsp
- water - 1/3 c
- baking powder
- plain flour
- Crisco - 2/3 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- orange juice - 1/2 c
- grated orange rind - 1 Tbsp
- strained orange juice - 3/4 c
- Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well
How to make fresh orange cake:
Mix sugar and Crisco. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well. Add flour, baking powder and salt; mix thoroughly. Add juice and rind. Makes 2 large layers.
